Greenbank and Welton to join together for a great cause

Greenbank’s managers and coaches are set to play their Welton counterparts, in a heartwarming football game.

Sadly, on 8th September this year, Drew Wilkinson, manager of a Welton Under 7 team, lost his life in a car accident, leaving a devoted partner, Tracey, and two young sons, Logan and Cobi.

In the true spirit of football coming together to help at difficult times, the clubs are due to play a fundraising game, on Saturday 2nd December @ NK Sports Centre. With kick off due to be approximately 3pm, all funds raised will be donated to the family, as we look to help them through this difficult time.

We welcome as many people as possible, to join us on the 3G at NK on 2nd December, along with a voluntary donation upon admission.

A City United

We are delighted to be able to announce that we are to be a regular feature within the City’s new football magazine, “A City United”.

We have our first article in November’s edition (Edition 4). Moving forward we hope to bring articles on specific events and in-focus articles on teams.

Each edition costs £3.

We have also teamed up with the magazine, enabling us to benefit both the club and the magazine. If you buy your copy through Greenbank, the club will receive 50p from every copy sold. To buy your copy, please either email web.admin@greenbankfc.co.uk, speak to your team manager or catch Adam at NK on some Sunday’s who will be armed with copies.

Got something happening that you want to tell us about for December’s edition? Email web.admin@greenbankfc.co.uk and we’ll be in touch.

Club Statement

The Greenbank Committee wishes to take this opportunity to reinforce our stance that, as a club, we have a zero-tolerance attitude to any players, spectators or coaches that are seen to be in breach of FA Respect Guidelines. The Committee has been made aware of a few issues over recent weeks, which are not befitting of a club that is both FA Charter Standard and the reigning Club Of The Year, and are dealing with these issues immediately. We would like to remind all that breaching FA Respect Guidelines can result in the individual, team or even club being removed from the league.  Continue reading “Club Statement”

Kit Donation – Leslie Manser Primary School

Over the summer Greenbank gratefully received a junior football kit as a result of attaining our FA Charter Standard Club accreditation for the following season.

Following a recent Committee meeting, it was decided that we donate the football kit to a local school. Therefore, the community donation of the football kit took place this morning to Leslie Manser Primary School. It was gratefully received by head teacher Adrian Jones who thanked the club for their contribution.

We hope you have many successful games in your new kit.

Motorhead kit named in FourFourTwo’s top 50 kits…ever!!

FourFourTwo have, this afternoon, announced via their Twitter account (https://twitter.com/FourFourTwo) that our Motorhead sponsored kit has been named in their top 50 kits…ever! Manager at the time, Gary Weight, knew Lemmy going back a while and sent off a speculative email asking whether they’d be interested in sponsoring the team, to his amazement the band came back and said yes!

40 years in pictures…

As some of you are aware, life begins for Greenbank, as we turn the big 40 in the summer of 2018. To celebrate our 40th year we’re planning a few different events, details of which will be released in due course!

In preparation for this, if you have any Greenbank related photos (teams, individuals, players, kits, presentations etc.) we’d love it if you could send these to web.admin@greenbankfc.co.uk

We plan to put together a collage of all of your photos at an event. Please tag and share this across social media so we can obtain as many memories as possible.

With thanks of the Greenbank Committee.
