As part of Greenbank's commitment to be more than just a football club and a part of the local community, it has given us all great satisfaction in being able to support Brian Thornber in the great work he is doing overseas, for the children of Ghana. These pictures below, show the start of what we will be doing over there in the very near future, this includes sponsoring a team (or teams) in Ghana, and who knows........... in the future, maybe a Greenbank side will have the chance to go out there for friendly!!

Greenbank Junior Football Club, from North Hykeham, has raised £2000 for charity.

Over 150 people attended a charity dinner that took place at the Bentley Hotel on Newark Road.

It was organised by volunteers from the football club, and the money raised on the night was split equally between Macmillan Cancer Care and L.I.V.E.S Emergency Response.

The evening’s entertainment included a three-course meal and an auction, with all the money raised going to the chosen charities.

The Greenbank chairman, Adrian Coy, called the night a “great success”.

He said: “It was fantastic to raise the money for the two charities. This was the second charity dinner we have organised and we hope to organise another one in two years’ time.”

A representative of Macmillan, Gemma Shaw, could not believe how much money the night had been raised.

She added, " I would like to say a big thank you to Greenbank for organising the dinner and all the people who attended

Greenbank Receives Lincolnshire Co-operative Community Grant.
Christmas came early at Greenbank when the Lincolnshire Co-operative Society awarded us a grant of £1200 to buy new goals and footballs for our annual 6 a Side Tournament. The money will help to ensure the future of this annual event in which up to 84 teams from across the county compete each year making it one of the largest tournaments in the area.

Margaret Tranter the Society's President came down to one of the under 6's training nights to officially present the equipment and view for herself the work that Greenbank does for the community. She met the under 6 team and some of the under 10's before watching the under 6's train using some of the balls and goals provided.
