Phil Franklin: Thank You

Greenbank FC are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of joint club founder, Phil Franklin.

Phil, along with Geoff Guest, founded this wonderful club in 1978 on the small green on Greenbank Drive, in Lincoln.

This club has gone on to provide thousands of young footballers and volunteers an opportunity to play the game we all love for over 42 years. A legacy Phil will always be remembered for.

The family name is still synonymous with the club today, as Phil’s son, Paul, has his sons involved with our current under 12s.

The club will continue to honour Phil’s name, with the Phil Franklin award, given each year to a member of the club as a thanks for their services over the last year.

We want to thank Phil for all that he did for so many people.

Our thoughts are with Phil’s family at this time.

The club can confirm that one of our Under 10 games has been abandoned this morning, due to alleged serious verbal abuse of one of our players from an adult associated with the opposition team.
