Phil Franklin: Thank You

Greenbank FC are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of joint club founder, Phil Franklin. Phil, along with Geoff Guest, founded this wonderful club in 1978 on the small green on Greenbank Drive, in Lincoln. This club has gone on to provide thousands of young footballers and volunteers an opportunity to play the game we all love for over 42 years. A legacy Phil will always be remembered for.

Club Statement – Coronavirus

Following communication and advice from the Mid Lincs League, the club can confirm that ALL matches, including friendlies, are postponed until April 3rd, at least. The clubs stance on training is that, whilst most schools remain open, training can go ahead at the discretion of the respective team manager and parents. We will continue to monitor this and will update if/when the situation changes.

The club can confirm that one of our Under 10 games has been abandoned this morning, due to alleged serious verbal abuse of one of our players from an adult associated with the opposition team. Club Statement

Greenbank Junior Football Club wish to reinforce their stance with regards to racism and specifically relating to an ongoing case which occurred on 20th January 2019. We, Greenbank FC, have featured in an interview (see below) on Sky Sports News today, Tuesday 2nd April 2019, relating to the above case. The purpose of the interview was to highlight the issues we have faced in having this serious issue investigated, those responsible held accountable and the incident brought to a conclusion.

NK 3G Closure 4th-6th March

Please be aware that the 3G pitch at One NK shall be closed Monday 4th March, until Wednesday 6th March due to essential repair works to the playing surface. Your team managers are aware, and will communicate with you individually if they plan to make other arrangements. The facility should be back in use on Thursday 7th March, barring any unforeseen delays in the repairs. We appreciate this isn’t ideal, but the work is essential to prevent the surface becoming unplayable. Thanks for your continued support. On Behalf of The Committee
